RidesThe 2012 Rally will have a very special "Ride Book" available for you upon arrival. If you do not get the opportunity to do them all, take the book home and enjoy them another time. The local chapters have spent a lot of time putting these rides together for you. There will be points of interest on the rides so stop if you choose. We are working to include GPS coordinates for those single riders who won't have a passenger to read the directions for them. We will post rides at a later date so please check back here for more details.Guided rides will be available at the rally and listed in the registration area of the host hotel. In addition to the ride book those attending the Rally will have the pleasure of the "Seven Days Battle Tour" lead by Civil War Historian and fellow HOG Member: George L Fickett Jr. You will be able to sign up at registration area. This ride is LIMITED TO 40 BIKES each day. So, you will need to sign up quick. The tour will include: Chickahominy Bluffs, The Battle of Beaver Dam Creek, The Battle of Gaines Mill, The Battle of Cold Harbor (1864), The Battle of Savage's Station, Battle of White Oak Swamp, The Battle of Glendale/Fraysers Farm and The Battle of Malvern Hill. This ride will leave the rally site each morning at 8:30 AM. Total ride is 132 miles. For those of you that attended the rally in Petersburg and went with George on his Battlefield Tours you know what a great ride and tour he presented. He is going over the top for 2012. So, sign up upon arrival. You can sign up for Thursday morning by calling 757-471-3669 (Rally Coordinator) and ask that your name be put on that days ride. Friday and Saturday will be signing up in the registration area.
